Our 650 acres of breathtaking wilderness are undergoing one of the most ambitious environmental restorations in the Sierra Nevada. $3M Raised for Land Acquisition
Successfully raised $3 million to fund the acquisition and long-term protection of strategic conservation lands

Land Secured in Emigrant Gap
Entered escrow to purchase 650 acres of ecologically degraded timberland in Emigrant Gap (Placer County), a key gateway to the Tahoe National Forest

Environmental Certification Secured
California Department of Fish and Wildlife certifies our fuel reduction and restoration plan as a qualifying environmental restoration project under CEQA, clearing the way for state-supported intervention

Landmark Acquisition Completed
In partnership with the State of California, completed the acquisition of 650 acres — the foundation for the Gateway Park project

Major Fundraising Milestones Achieved
Raised $2.4M of the $5M needed to restore the land and reduce wildfire risks. Secured an additional $4.2M of $5.2M for public access infrastructure and facilities, laying the groundwork for transformative educational outdoor experiences

Launched active restoration with a specialized team focused on clearing flammable overgrowth and revitalizing the forest ecosystem

Raised $300K in additional funds for fuel reduction and restoration, bringing total restoration funding to $2.7M of our $5M goal — with ongoing efforts to complete funding

Closed our funding gap for fuel reduction and restoration by raising the remaining $2.3M, fully funding the $5M restoration plan and putting Gateway Park on track to become a flagship example of community-driven conservation
